Sadie, Sadie is the first episode of Gilmore Girls in season 2. The name probably stems from the saying “Sadie, Sadie married lady”. This alludes to the fact that we are going to find out more about what happens with Lorelai’s and Max’s engagement.
Of course Lorelai doesn’t want to have her great news ruined by Emily so she doesn’t really tell her. This backfires in her face just because Emily ends up finding out when Sookie invites her to her engagement party. What’s worse is then Rory and Richard get in a fight simply because he doesn’t like the fact that she’s dating Dean and he is quite rude to Rory’s boyfriend. However, Emily commands him to heal the relationship just so that it doesn’t turn out like her painful one with Lorelai. Emily is deeply hurt that Lorelai doesn’t tell her about the engagement. However, instead of really finding out about why this happens she just becomes even colder than usual.
The Ins and Outs of Inns is an episode of Gilmore Girls that focuses on the relationship between Lorelai and her best friend who is a chef at the inn named Sookie. After Lorelai’s failed engagement they start working on their plan to really get their own Inn started.
One of the big problems with this plan is Mia. Mia is kind of Lorelai’s surrogate mother. She owns the Independence Inn and gave Lorelai her first job as a maid. She also let her live on the property. Lorelai feels slighted and scared when Mia says that she was just keeping the inn for so long just because of Lorelai and now she wanted to sell it. Lorelai freaks out on Sookie and she says that maybe Sookie is too indecisive to be a good partner.
Emily also shows up at the Inn. She’s never met Mia before and they have words just because she feels that Mia should have really sent her home.
Like Mother, Like Daughter is one of the more lighthearted episodes of this show. We see the younger Gilmore Girl Rory getting in trouble at school. Her grades are fine but the school doesn’t feel like she’s socializing properly. Sure, they only see that she sits alone at lunch. She feels slighted because she isn’t alone; she just hasn’t made friends there yet and who would with people like Paris and Tristan around?
To remedy this she sits down at a table and ends up joining a secret sorority which she didn’t even know existed. Paris also wants to be a member and Rory tries to get her in. When Lorelai complains about the forced socialization she is chided for not being more active in school activities and ends up dragging Emily to be a model in a fashion show that she organizes. The two walk in a fashion show together and even end up having some fun in the process.
