The Gilmore Sense of Humor

I really have the Gilmore sense of humor thing down. I know this because when I tell a joke; no one laughs. In fact most people don’t even know it’s a joke.

This is something that happens to Lorelai a lot; especially around Emily. She often has to explain that she wasn’t being offensive it was one of her funny jokes. I think it’s easier to live with on the show than in real life. At least then Lorelai has an audience to laugh at her and Google her obscure references so that they can figure out why it is funny. I think in real life it just means I’m not that funny. Anyone else with a Gilmore sense of humor out there and do you tell jokes knowing that no one else will get them?

Oh, I hear ya! It happens so often that I tell a joke with a pop culture reference and after that have to explain what the reference was, not cool at all.

Hi. I just came across your blog and I absolutely love it. I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. I’m just like Rory. I just finished reading all of your posts. I love them. I also happen to be in the middle of a series marathon. I’m on season 3 episode 2. I will be looking out for your posts. I am also trying to watch the movies referenced and read the books referenced. Thank you for this website.
