Gray Gardens Review

This was a movie that I think the Gilmores watch in season three about Big Edie and Little Edie Bouvier. It’s from the 70’s. This movie is great and confusing, like watching the most interesting home videos ever. Thank goodness for the internet and the ability to look up who are these people and what they are doing. Even then I can only take it in very small doses but when I can handle it, it’s fantastic. Anyone else watched this?

I haven’t been able to find the original documentary. But I have watched the new movie based on it, and they did a really good job with it. It was really interesting but sad.

Gray Gardens? I haven’t seen the real documentary, but I’ve seen snippets of the Drew Barrymore/Jessica Lange version.

It seems like something the Gilmore Girls would have really enjoyed!

Yes. I turned it off after about 20 minutes. I think I need Lorelai or Rory’s commentary to make it entertaining for me.

I love Gray Gardens and the movie version. If you want to see the original documentary Netflix may still have it, that is how i got to see it.

They do have the original documentary on Netflix. It’s absolutely hilarious (and of course somewhat sad). The movie they made that was based on it was good.. and pretty close to the original.

My husband and I made it through about 30 minutes. He was transfixed, but I couldn’t handle it. It WAS sad. Both of them seemed so beautiful and put together in those young pictures. *sigh*
