For awhile I thought that I hated both Logan and Christopher the exact same amount. During a recent season seven episode I realized that I like Logan a lot more for one reason: his furniture. I really love the polka dot couch at his apartment with green and yellow dots all over it. I’ve been looking for something similar. Yes, I already have a couch but not a polka dot couch. Even online I can’t find anything that compares with it. I’ve found a lot of polka dot pillows, but it’s just not the same thing. What is your favorite piece of Gilmore Girls furniture?

I don’t watch the DVDs of the show everyday but I tend to make it through all of the seasons about once a year, whatever that averages out to. I just recently realized the significance of this conversation in season seven episode two:

RORY: There wasn’t really a point you know because I get it. He is starting his first real job. I mean, he needs time to adjust and focus and learn the lay of the land. I mean it’s good that he’s trying to be a grown-up. You no so now I’m trying to be a grown-up. So why am I gonna get all pouty because I don’t get to do it?

LORELAI: Well, that sounds like a real grown-up talking.

RORY: Thank you.

LORELAI: You know the one thing that grown-ups don’t call themselves?

RORY: What?

LORELAI: Grown-ups. Huh they say “adults,” and they pronounce it “ah-dults.”

RORY: It stinks!

LORELAI: Oh, it really stinks.

I always refer to people who are even a year or two older than me as “grown ups”. I do not consider myself to be in this category. So what do you say grown-ups or adults or peer group?

In the episode “The Lorelei’s’ First Day at Yale” Rory and Lorelei argue whether or not various famous people are dead or alive. I’ve often had this problem. I always seem to wonder about Bob Hope. I keep thinking “Wow he’s getting old.” when in fact he passed in 2003. I now have a new website that I adore called “Dead or Alive“. Type in any famous person’s name and it will come up with whether they are dead or alive. Sure, Google can do the same thing but that requires reading and I won’t get such a swift response to my “Dead or Alive” question.

If you could pick any Gilmore house to live in which would it be? Would you choose the elegant but don’t touch look of Emily or the homey look that Lorelei has going? From the few shots that we see of Sookie’s place in earlier seasons it may be my favorite. Here are a few small mental notes of projects I would do if I was crafty and owned my own place:

• I’d recreate the huge bulletin board in the Dragonfly kitchen. I love how it’s framed out with really unique molding.
• I would decoupage a cut out of a rose on a brown lampshade. For some reason this is the first thing I think of when I envision Lorelai’s house.
• I’d paint paneling yellow and then add a glaze over it to simulate the dragonfly dining room.
• I’d drive to Logan’s apartment and steal his couch.
