25 Dec 2009 I’ve Been Writing to the Wrong Santa
 |  Category: Gilmore Girls  | Leave a Comment

Every year I rehash the different Gilmore Girls Christmas episodes even though there aren’t enough of them. Occasionally I post lists about Gilmore related items that I want and then I may or may not discreetly send the post to friends and family. This year, I just want to write to breakfast Santa instead. Remember this episode?

LORELAI: Breakfast Santa’s been here!

LUKE: Breakfast Santa? Wow!

LORELAI: The kids must have left it for us.

LUKE: I don’t think there’s really a breakfast Santa.

I’ve always ignored this part of Gilmore Girls because it takes place during the vineyard episode and frankly I try to block out that whole season. This year though I just want Santa to bring me breakfast every day and leave it on a tray outside my door. Is that really asking so much?

18 Dec 2009 How Do You Feel About Holiday Decorations?
 |  Category: Gilmore Girls  | 2 Comments

Lately I find myself acting more and more like Luke. This is especially problematic because I want to date Luke not be the female version of Luke. I am fine with some holiday decorations, a Christmas tree for example. However, I guess I’ve just had too many roommates who would just decorate for every single holiday. The apartment would feel cluttered and dusty and I would have to take them all down months later. For instance, I do not decorate for Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s, or Thanksgiving. I will put up a tree and that’s it. I’m with Luke on this one:

“Aw, come on. Are you mad at me too? I mean, a man can’t choose whether or not he wants a picture of a fat, stupid bird on his wall? My God, that’s the reason the damn Pilgrims came here in the first place.”

11 Dec 2009 The Power of Bop It
 |  Category: Gilmore Girls  | 3 Comments

In the episode “We’ve got us a Pippi Virgin” Lorelei and Rory have to bring out the bop it to turn the double date with Luke and Dean around. I’ve actually done this before and it’s great at alleviating awkward social situations. I used it a lot when I was a nanny and the kids were fighting. Work it out with the bop it kids. We really should use it as a way to handle international conflicts. It’s a great replacement for actually having to talk to someone.

04 Dec 2009 Boyfriend Boxes
 |  Category: Gilmore Girls  | 6 Comments

There have been various boyfriend boxes on Gilmore Girls. Rory put everything that reminded her of Dean in a box and wanted to throw it out but Lorelei saved it all in a boyfriend box. There was a box for Max as well. Lorelei redid the entire garage when she broke up with Luke.

I am really not that sentimental, I have no problem just throwing things away. On some occasions I think “Great, we’re broken up I finally can take off this ugly necklace.” Lately, a few items have been piling up in the closet that I don’t want to keep or throw away. A mood ring, a t-shirt, mp3s on my computer that I can’t listen to but can’t delete. I really need to get a box. Do you have a boyfriend box?
