Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

Like Lorelai I watched this movie because of the name. I envisioned a lot of women running around yelling “Ya ya”. I wanted ya ya to become a catch phrase for empowerment. Plus, there was a pretty sunflower on the cover. It looked like such an uplifting movie. After about half an hour I was pointing the remote control to my head and pressing the rewind button as if this would somehow erase the memory of this awful, awful film. The only good thing about this movie is the title and the cover.

i HATED that movie. it was so slow and boring–i remember seeing it at the theater when it came out–and being woken up when it was over. apparently i’m a drooler. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, that movie really sounds terrible. Did you see Alexis’s movies, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I and II? I enjoyed both of those movies. You might want to give them a try.

Tuck Everlasting seemed to fall flat on me…I remember liking the 80s film as a child. I’ll have to check that one out again.

have you heared about a new project by Amy Sherman-Palladino? it should be on HBO soon! it will be a story about a mother and her relation with 3 daughters who are writers.

Maybe it would be sth a bit similar to GG? ‘Cause I still don’t have a show which could fill a whole made after GG finish ๐Ÿ™

I absolutely second your opinion. Divine secrets SUCKS. I’ve read the book by Rebecca Wells and it was surprisingly tolerable (it even managed to make me smile once or twice) but the movie was absolute torture. I still have no idea why did I sit through the whole length of wasted film reel. But I did shout out like Lorelai at the end of Magnolia that I wanted my two hours back. All I got was four crazy ladies going “Ya-Ya” at a very loud pitch in my head * sob *
