Al’s Pancake World

The worst part about living in a small town is that there really aren’t a lot of options for eating out.  We have a pizza place.  The nearest McDonalds is 40 minutes away & you can just forget about finding a Taco Bell or even a taco, anywhere in town.  Oh & Chinese food, I remember you from my days in the city & you were yummy.

It’s mostly the old car hop joints that no have places to eat inside.  I guess, a little bit like Luke’s Diner.  There is this one restaurant that always changes owners. They never get around to changing the sign. It’s so interesting to see the different kind of cuisine that people think they can sell in a small town.  My favorite was when a Cajun restaurant opened up.  It only stayed in business three weeks.  I never made it there, but I highly suspect that it was Al’s Pancake World.

I wish I lived in a small town, I always said I would move to one and open up a Lukes, but an Al’s Pancake World is sounding much better. I love it when Lorelai and Rory have the surprise grab bags from there and they try and guess what kind of food it is.

i DEMAND a picture of the dancing chicken!! has the restaurant ever done that “guess your dinner” thing where it’s in some unmarked grocery sack like that one episode?

Even if we did have a good place to eat out here where I live (actually we do–it’s called Ubuntu, but it’s very expensive), I would much rather have A Black, White and Read Movie theater, complete with a charming host/user and his charming girlfriend. I’ve been told “Pippi Longstocking” is a great make-out movie.
