I’ve never given much thought to Donna Reed. I just assumed that she was on the Donna Reed Show & that’s why she was famous. I’ve watched about fifteen minutes of the Donna Reed show & it is nowhere near as entertaining as Rory & Lorelai made it when they were putting words in the characters mouth. As a side note, that’s another way that I’m a Gilmore. Whenever I’m bored with a show I mute it & then make up how the dialogue should be.
If it wasn’t for Gilmore Girls I never would’ve thought about Donna Reed. The other day I was watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” & I wondered who played Mary. Apparently, it’s Donna Reed. She was also in “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. That’s not a complete list of her work, those are just the ones I recognized. It would make sense that she would have to be a big film star before they gave her a show. According to Rory, Donna was one of the first women TV executives.
i’ve never seen it’s a wonderful life. every christmas i mean to rent it or netflix it, but never do.
I have always wanted to see the Donna Reed show.
Just passing by to thank you for keeping up this great site. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who keeps re-watching Gilmore Girls over and over…

It’s interesting, this Donna Reed was such an important person! And a feminist, I like it!
