How will people know you are smart?

I’ve noticed a comeback in men wearing the black 60’s eyeglasses. That doesn’t mean that I like it. I just noticed it is all. Every time I see this style I think “Why do you want to look like you work at NASA?”

Lane Kim was definitely someone who could rock glasses. In fact, both Zach & Mrs. Kim were distraught when Lane switched to contacts. Zach even says that now people will have to talk to her first instead of just knowing she is smart.

I have to confess that I feel the same way. I wear glasses when I need to give the impression that I’m smart. There is just something about glasses that says “I’ve ruined my eyes through many late nights of reading & I’m not ashamed to admit it.” When I see people with glasses, I automatically assume they are intelligent. What about you? Am I the only one who feeds into the stereotype?

nice post, i agree – i also wear glasses. the last years i always wear contacts everytime i leave home, because i didn´t really like my glasses, but now i´ve got new ones and i wear them all the time. i´m not ashamed wearing them outside my house, it´s okay that people see them.In the first time they react different than before, but now it´s okay.

But you can´t say everyone looks intelligent with glasses, i think its different from person to person. some wear them to look interesting, some to look intelligent, and there are surely some wich were following the actual trends – what doesn´t mean they look good – some of them probably don´t reach their intended aim 😉

i’ve always preferred glasses over contacts. there’s something “sturdy” about glasses, and you’re right–they do give off a smart-vibe! then again, maybe it just stems from my aversion of sticking stuff in my eye… 🙂

I wear glasses, when I need to see. Which is pretty much all the time. 🙂

I’ve had glasses since second grade (I’m 24 now) and I’ve never, ever even tried contacts. I just couldn’t poke myself in the eye repeatedly, every day. Glasses, they just go on your face.

Just invest in really good ones. Not trendy, but nice, classy ones that blend well with your face. Remember, it’s okay to sink a good chunk of change into them; they essentially become part of your face!

I wear both glasses and contacts, and it really just depends on my mood and how much time I have in the morning! 🙂 Also, I have been an optician (person who works at your eye dr. who sells glasses) for about 2 years now and I have to agree w/Marie, that YES it is ok to sink a good chunk of change into them if you want good ones!!!!

I have been making my way through the series the past year and was surprised to notice sometime in the 4th season I think when Lorelai all of a sudden was wearing glasses!

No, I don’t feel the same, but I think it depends on people, because that’s right Lane is different without her glasses

I’m really sorry, my computer has a problem tonight.
SO, I was saying that Lane is different but she doesn’t seem less intelligent.
You’re true, this sentence from Zach is almost historical!
