Rory’s Book Club: Death of a salesman

I like to read plays. I like to go to plays. At least I think I like to. During the first act I’m in such awe & wondering why I don’t do this more often. Then after awhile, I start wondering why they don’t sell popcorn. So, I decided to read “Death of a Salesman” by Arthur Miller because then I could have popcorn at hand.

I told someone the summary & they said, “wow that’s depressing”. I was thinking, it’s called “Death of a Salesman” what were you expecting? I’ve heard the title of this play a lot, but had no idea what it entailed. It was a poignant story about family, dreams & reality. It makes me type words like poignant. Yes, the book/play is a downer, but it’s poignant.
