30 Oct 2007 Blame Grisham
 |  Category: Book Reviews  | One Comment

Every Monday since I started this site, I’ve reviewed a book from Rory’s Book Club. This means reading at least one book a week. Well, obviously that didn’t happen this week. Blame the fact that John Grisham was looking so much more fun than David Copperfield. Also blame the free preview of Showtime last weekend. Pretty much blame anything that isn’t me. I’ll start reading the list again, pinky swear.

What’s that sparkly hunk of metal & what is it doing on the “Gilmore Girls” blog you ask? Well, I was looking through different Shriner rings, reminscing about when Zach proposed to Lane. I wish a guy would just walk up & randomly propose & I wouldn’t have to date. Correction, I wish the right guy would walk up & randomly propose & I wouldn’t have to date. Anyways, the main point of this is that Shriner rings are very cool & very rock & roll.

22 Oct 2007 Rory’s book club: Small Island

I’ll admit that I was getting a little burnt out by reading Rory’s Book Club list. I never considered giving up the project, but I am woefully behind because I’ve been reading non Rory books. Shocking, I know.

Then I picked up Small Island by Andrea Levy & it reminded me why I’m doing this project. It reminded me why I read in general. Small Island is about Jamaican immigrants to England after WWII. It’s a good book. A very good book. One that I never would’ve picked up without Rory’s book club.

19 Oct 2007 It’s pathetic I know

I was just watching “House” & the patient’s mom looked familiar. Within seconds I was saying, “Oh, it’s Maureen’s, Sherry’s friend that appeared in both the Dear Emily & Richard episode as well as the baby shower episode”. Apparently she was also the original Martha Kent on “Smallville”, she was also on “Pay it forward”.

I tried to name all of the fifty states a few weeks ago because I was inspired by an episode of “Friends”. I can’t remember Oklahoma, but I can spot a minor Gilmore Girls character from a mile away.
