		<description>Hee hee. I've never read &lt;em&gt;Oracle Night&lt;/em&gt;, but I often encounter this phenomenon. Independent filmmakers do it, too. They rail against "the man" and say how they want to do their own thing. And I can appreciate that. But then they feel they need to be creative and do something that no one else is doing. Ugh. There's nothing wrong with use time-tested patterns that work. That doesn't make you any less creative.
