Yeah, it wasn't something I'd expect Rory and Lorelai to watch. But it had parallels with Gilmore Girls.

This movie is also--believe it or not--a movie about entrepreneurship. Chris Gardner is following his passion and trying something new, kind of like Lorelai when she was 16. But Chris had to reach rock bottom before he succeeded. Stories like this are more common than you might think. I hear all the time of very successful people who survived on ramen noodles for months on end when they were first starting out.

Someday I hope to write about the parts of this movie that are unrealistic, too. But it's still an inspiring story. My wife and I watched it together, and she says, "That's a really good movie." Yeah, I agree.

I finally saw the last episode last night. There was sobbing. Thank you for preparing me - my husband was a wreck (although he'd deny it) saying, "Luke better get it together and get with Loralei - he's only got 20 minutes!
