Rory’s Book Club: The Kite Runner
|
Category: Book Reviews
You know a book is good when you go to the library & four different bookstores & still can’t find it. “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini was definitely worth the struggle it took for me to find it. Every time I put the book down, I spent 5 solid minutes thinking “Wow, just wow”. It was heart wrenching, heart breaking at times, definitely not a book for kids, extremely intense. See? It’s so good I’m just using sentence fragments. It’s the kind of book that you can watch someone read because it will show on their faces. It is in my top 5 from Rory’s book club. (The other ones include: “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time”, “Life of Pi” “The Portable Dorothy Parker” & one spot yet to be determined).

I want to read this book, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough. How intense is intense? How heart wrenching is heart wrenching? I’m evaluating how much my psyche can take before giving me nightmares (I’m embarassingly fragile for someone who loves to read!)
Have an awesome Merry Christmas - may your holiday be filled with glee like Lorelai & Rori had before Christopher and Logan came along and stole their joy!
