The next new “Gilmore Girls” episode will be on January 23. I’m always cranky that “Gilmore Girls” isn’t on around Christmas. They are my friends & I’d like to spend the holidays with them. The next episode is called Santa’s Secret Stuff, so it should be kind of a Christmas episode. So, if I’m cranky that’s why, 7 weeks without “Gilmore Girls”. At least that’s almost two months for me to pretend that Christopher & Lorelai aren’t together.
I was planning on filling the new void in my life with Rory’s books. However, I have finally reached the bottom of the barrel. I’ve spent months looking at thrift stores & borrowing books from anyone who owns books. I’ve scoured every library in a 60 miles radius (I really have driven that far for books). The roads are just too bad to continue that. I could do interlibrary loans, but that gets expensive. Plus, I’m afraid that the librarian will look at me like “What? You’re too good for Nora Roberts?”. I would love to buy the remaining 75+ books, but again that’s very expensive. So, am I missing something? Is there a reason that my library has 6 Beyonce CD’s & no Charles Dickens? That’s how desperate I am for books. I finally have to stop procrastinating reading “David Cooperfield”. Things are just that bad. Is there any other way to get books? I’ve been looking into this where you swap paperbacks with people. Has anyone tried this? Do you think it’s safe? Should I buy a P.O Box? Would you be sad if I got chopped up into little tiny pieces?

If you’re willing to read them, we’re willing to help. Why don’t you post a list of the books you’re looking for and we’ll see who has what out there in the blogsphere???
Is it wrong of me to hope that the upside of Rory’s annoying new friends is that she might read a few more entertaining books? She doesn’t have to go all Gossip Girls or anything, but she could lighten up a little bit…At the very least, I’m sure she’s reading Barak Obama’s books…the older memoir, not just the new flashy pre-election one.

I’ve heard good things about those book swap sites, but if you don’t want to do that, you could always buy on ebay, it’s a lot cheaper that way. You’d still have to give out your address but if you find sellers who are far enough away I’m sure they won’t bother chopping you up. Unless there is really nobody suitable where they live.
Anyway I found this site when I was searching for Rory’s full book club list and I can’t believe I didn’t know about it before! Everyone wants to be a Gilmore Girl but so few are brave enough to try it.

Amazon is a great way to go. (psstt rory buys her books of it too) or you could also ask people for them for the holidays. And I agree e-bay is cheap and wonderful for used books!

You could try reading books online! Pemberley.com has all of Jane Austen’s works for free.
You are too good for Nora Roberts!
What about swapping books with friends and neighbors? You could also start your very own bookswapping site for the non-serial killer variety. Like you don’t have enough blogs already, but I’d join!
