31 Oct 2006 What’s wrong with Season 7
 |  Category: Gilmore Girls

Besides the fact that every character is being untrue to what we have known them to be for 6 years. (There wasn’t a new episode tonight, so a rant will have to suffice). The problem with this seasons “Gilmore Girls” is that suddenly the girls are actually doing things. The premise of the show has always been simple: the girls talk about things, really really fast after they happen. This is the show that I have grown to love. The “Gilmore Girls” do not: witness car crashes, play racquetball, or go to Paris. We haven’t seen most of the significant moments on this show, we didn’t see Rory & Jess’ car crash, we didn’t even see when Luke proposed, we didn’t even have that flashback moment where we see Lorelai hold Rory as a baby for the first time. Suddenly it seems like every episode is on location. Just let my girls sit & drink coffee & talk really, really fast. It’s what they do best.

  1. So true. There is far too much action, and not enough coffee talk. Things that disturb me: Rory talking dirty via text, and the lack of town response after L and L broke up. Didn’t they wear ribbons last time?

  2. AMEN, Sistah! We need coffee, and chocolate and references we just don’t get, but love anyway!!!

  3. Good point! I hadn’t thought about it quite that way, but you’re right…makes me wonder if the new writers have even SEEN the previous episodes, or do they think they’re working on a new pilot???

  4. I long for the days of Seasons 1-4…I don’t like the direction that this show is going either. Rory’s new weird friends (although I am excited about Marty coming back!), Christopher flinging his money around, the idiotic backstories of the quirky townspeople…and what happened to Lane? Are we not going to see her again until she gives birth? Where’s Mrs. Kim’s reaction to the pregnancy news?!

  5. I love that you write this site.

  6. I would have loved to see a flashback of Lorelai holding Rory for the first time
