17 Oct 2006 S’ Wonderful S’ Marvelous: The Lobotomy Hat
 |  Category: Recaps

I blame the new hat. I figure that the reason Luke is hiding the entire top of his head is because it is scarred, or has just disappeared altogether. He has had a lobotomy, hence his behavior lately, hence my new nickname “the lobotomy hat”. Seriously, non-lobotomy Luke would’ve said to Anna Nardini “Why are you wearing a wig? What is on your head?”. Then he would’ve made a no fake hairpiece sign & put it next to his no cell phone sign. Then he would’ve made Anna wear the lobotomy hat. I don’t know what was up with Emily’s arrest & Rory’s new friends. “Gilmore Girls” doesn’t have filler, well at least it didn’t use to.  Other non-lobotomy related observations from this episode:

1. Since when does Rory slap her head when Lorelai is being impossible?  She is supposed to keep the gag going.

2. I liked that we got to see Rory during the summer.  This means more interaction between her & Lorelai, less annoying college friends, & more of Stars Hallow.

3. Has the lighting changed?  Everything seems a lot dimmer, & the Gilmores don’t have quite the glowing skin they always have had.

4.  This episode was very romantic.  I love the surprise, the movie, & the gentleman like behavior.  Only one problem: it’s with the WRONG FREAKING GUY.

What did everyone think of “S’ Wonderful, S’ Marvelous”?

  1. I agree about the lighting- it just seems really dark lately. And Lor just seems to be way too passive about everything- taking it all a little too easily. I like Rory’s new friends though!

  2. LOL! I am SO glad I’m not the only one who noticed Anna’s hideous wig! Awful! The lighting is definitely different–what are the non-Palladinos doing over there?!

Didn’t really like Rory’s new friends–they were kind of annoying.

It strikes me as odd that April doesn’t seem the least bit curious as to why Luke and Lorelai broke up–especially seeing as how Lorelai threw her an awesome birthday party. Hmmph.

  3. Yes, wrong guy for sure!!

  4. Agh! I love the Gilmore Girls, I want in on the action!!!

I can’t believe I got rid of my TV.

Sigh, I’ll have to live through all of you. How I miss my Gilmore night.

  5. I don’t even know what to say. If they end the whole Luke/Lorelai years of build up with this kind of “oh well, it didn’t work,” I’ll have to scream. But I have to admit, Lorelai and Christopher make sense in a lot of ways, too. I just wish they were handling it better!

  6. there are a lot of differences cuz of the new writer!!!here r my complaints-

    i like luke/lorelai couple

    logan is away!

luke seems almost stupid- like with april and stuff

    not as many funny references

and a couple more i dont feel like typin rite now

  7. It was such a romantic eppie, but I can’t get behind the Chris/Lor thing. Do they really want to relive high shcool?

  8. Okay I sort of liked this episode because I love Funny Face and I loved how cute and romantic the whole date was but it def was the wrong Freaking guy. I cant stand Christopher or April. Both are so annoying. I do not like the new writers.
