“Lorelai’s First Cottillion” Recap

I keep telling myself to just start writing & then I will be able to figure out whether I liked this episode of the “Gilmore Girls”. So this is me writing trying to figure it out. I like that both Paul Anka & April have taken backseats in season 7. I hate Paris’ new hair color. Yes, she looks prettier, but I didn’t even know it was Paris until she started talking. I also didn’t heart Luke’s new baseball hat. If I remember correctly, Lorelai gave him the old cap, but that might just be me starting a rumor. If Lorelai didn’t give him the old hat, she should have, that would’ve been a much better storyline. I also intensely dislike the Aeria girls, or whatever they are called, during the commercials. They have completely disproportionate laughter to the drivel they say. They inspired me to figure out how to spell disproportionate. All in all, this episode was better than the previous Season 7 episodes. It wasn’t “Gilmore Girls” at its finest, but it was Season 5-ish.What did you think of this weeks episode? Does anyone else remember the hat story or did I make that up? If I did make it up would you be willing to pass it along to your friends?

About Sarakastic

I've watched every episode of Gilmore Girls several times. I moved to a small town that reminded me of Stars Hollow. I've subconsciously had my haircut to look like Lorelai. Gilmore Girls is my life, I just have to find Luke. (Well, I didn't have a kid when I was 16, but other than that...)

I agree – Paul Anka and April need to go. I don’t remember the hat story, but applaud the way you channeled your frustration with the Aeria girls into learning how to spell a new word. Rory would be proud!

I agree with your comments (and I think you’re right about the hat thing. My daughter actually mentioned it too).

I must add that Emily teaching a bunch of ten year olds to be just like her is CLASSIC Gilmore Girls. Seriously.

I think the episode was a bit better than previous, but I hate any episode where L & L don’t get at least one scene together. Rory talking about sex still weirds me out. And I don’t think Lorelai’s updo with the clip was anything new and different. I’m sure once in the past 6 seasons she’s worn her hair that way–it certainly didn’t warrant compliments. I’m glad I have Tivo and can skip through the Aeria girls disproportionate laughter. 🙂

Was this the first week of those Aeria girls or have I been lucky enough to miss them skipping commercials in weeks past? That one chick that was “I was exactly like Luke & Lorelai…” Uh, no you weren’t.

I haven’t been overly thrilled after watching any of these episodes this season. The only cool thing that happened was Kirk driving into the diner. Are they purposely trying to wean us off the show so we’re not disappointed when it end?

Lorelai bought luke the baseball hat in season one and i think that the season should get better every episode (hoprfully)

I liked this episode better than the previous ones…was I the only one who noticed the weird camera angles (in previous eps)? I’m glad we haven’t seen April yet…but I know she’s out there ready to pounce! That April storyline makes me want to kick puppies…

I am sitting here eating a piece of pie and trying to think about what I liked about this episode. I did like the whole thing with Emily, It just made it feel like old Gilmore Girls. And Michel and Lorelai dancing was just I dont know Gilmoreish. Rofl. I dident like Christopher being there in the end. I have not been able to stand Chris forever. But it was somewhat like old Gilmores.
