Lorelai & Snow
It is snowing right now. In September. Yes, I live in Utah, but even here, snow in September has only been recorded three times. So I was faced with the question, will I, or won’t I? Lorelai Gilmore takes a walk in the first snow every year. Snow is magical to her. So if I’m going to be like her, I would have to do this. Lorelai wears a cute insulated vest with light scarf & a hat which of course she still looks pretty in, She goes out walking even if it’s the middle of the night. There is one thing missing from this scenario. Snow is COLD. I do not look pretty with a red sniffling nose, shivering in a non-cute hat. So do I love “Gilmore Girls” enough to risk pneumonia? Yes, yes I do; but I’m a sissy. I will have until next Memorial Day to walk in the snow. Instead I will walk back & forth in front of the window, like I am walking outside & watch the snow. I will watch the snow episodes from various Gilmore Girls seasons. I will drink hot chocolate because I like chocolate. I’m celebrating the first snow of the winter on the inside.

Today I accidentally ran across a picture of the world’s ugliest dog. I’d post a link or photo, but it is just too scary. This dog had cataracts, half of it’s fur missing, & was chewing on a bone that looked like it belonged to it’s own leg. Aliens don’t frighten me because they are aliens, I don’t believe in them. However, this is a dog & dog’s do exist. This mental image burning its way into my brain might have been ok if I was actually looking for a scary picture of a dog. I wasn’t though, & now I’m just a little disturbed. So here are some of my favorite posts of the week, no scary dogs included. Think if Lorelai Gilmore was surfing the internet where would she go? Some of them are from Problogger’s group writing project, & some are just cool.

Emily Gilmore would be horrified but I found a perfect Emily outfit for less than $50. Emily really knows what is age appropriate without looking matronly. Try a shiny satin or silk fabric, with a structured jacket. She also wears a lot of gold or light blue. A suit is just perfect for a mother of the bride or a DAR function. So maybe Emily would wear something like this just as long as we don’t tell her how much it costs.
