It is snowing right now. In September. Yes, I live in Utah, but even here, snow in September has only been recorded 3 times. So I was faced with the question, will I, or won’t I? Lorelai Gilmore takes a walk in the first snow every year. Snow is magical to her. So if I’m going to be like her, I would have to do this. Lorelai wears a cute insulated vest, light scarf & a hat which of course she still looks pretty in & goes out walking even if it’s the middle of the night. There is one thing missing from this scenario. Snow is COLD. I do not look pretty with a red sniffling nose, shivering in a non-cute hate. So do I love “Gilmore Girls” enough to risk pneumonia? Yes, yes I do, but I’m a sissy. I will have until next Memorial Day to walk in the snow. Instead I will walk back & forth in front of the window, like I am walking outside & watch the snow. I will watch the snow episodes from various Gilmore Girls seasons. I will drink hot chocolate because I like chocolate. I’m celebrating the first snow of the winter on the inside.

Oh do it! I love those scenes of Lorelai, smile across her face and chin pointed toward the night sky as the snow falls like feather dust all around. Ahh…pretend for me, will ya? (We don’t get snow in these parts

I think you’re onto something with your indoor approach to snow appreciation.
Because if we know anything about Lorelai, it’s that she doesn’t endure discomfort well. She speaks for those of us who believe that if you have a choice between being cold and being cutely dressed, the later wins, every time. If the streets of Star’s Hollow weren’t climate controlled, I think we’d see a lot more gazing out the window scenes
