Of all the books on Rory’s booklist I was looking forward the least to “Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers” by Mary Roach. Why would I want to read 294 pages about the decomposition process? I love Rory so much that I was dedicated to reading even this book and it was…brilliant. More than it was graphic & disturbing, this book was meaningful. It made me think about the many people who have to sacrifice so great discoveries can be made, and that they are never thanked or recognized. Mary Roach is also one of the funniest authors I’ve read in awhile, and I breezed through this book, very easy to read. One of the most unique looks at death, definitely worth a read.  Besides the fact that it just looks cool to be carrying a book where the front cover is a corpse’s feet with a toe tag on it. Plus, I now know so many delightful facts that I will count as my “dinner party conversation”. I’m going to be so popular.  I picked up this book expecting to get sick to my stomach, or as I like to call it feel vomity.  Instead, this was so touching I ended up crying.
