In my never ending quest to become like the “Gilmore Girls”, I am reading every book in Rory’s Book club. The next book I read was “Old School” by Tobias Wolff. I really didn’t get interested in this book until it was 80% over. It was the equivalent of going to a movie about a horse that runs a lot, being bored out of your mind, & then the horse randomly spontaneously combusts with 2 minutes left in the movie. Actually that would be a good movie, and this book didn’t have any horses in that. Just in the last 50 pages it was apparent that Tobias Wolff can write, something he had forgotten to do in the rest of the book. I think the book is worth reading because it has very good descriptions of Robert Frost, Ayn Rand, & Ernest Hemingway. This made me more excited to read Ayn Rand & Ernest Hemingway’s book from Rory’s book club, so this book was an excellent precursor. Have you read “Old School” by Tobias Wolff, what did you think of it? Want to join Rory’s Book club? Click on the link in the sidebar for the official list and get reading.

Oh my gosh, this blog is hysterical - great job! I ADORE the Gilmore Girls. If I thought that reading Rory’s book list would get my Loralei’s wardrobe, I’d be on it in a second!
