Loralei Gilmore Dress

Filed under: Gilmore Girls Fashion • Comments: 4

iconicon One of my favorite Lorelai Gilmore looks is a wrap dress with 3/4 sleeves. She wears this to Friday nigh dinners at the Gilmore’s quite often. I cheer inwardly whenever I see this because I own several of these dresses so it means that I’m closer to becoming a Gilmore Girl. I think it’s a very demure look for someone who isn’t comfortable showing much skin. It’s also a shape that seems to flatter a lot of different body types. A wrap dress is perfect for any occasion a wedding, date, or just running errands.

“The Long Marrow” Season 7 Gilmore Girls Premiere

Filed under: Recaps • Comments: 9

Minute 2: Oh it’s the “Gilmore Girls” & they are so pretty.

Minute 7: When Paris says how not clarifying the relationship between Rory & Logan worked so well last time, I wonder why she doesn’t say something like, “It worked so well for Sylvia Plath”, or someone else I don’t know about.

Minute 9: Mild panic attack, what if this is the end of an era? What if I’m not going to have anything to google after this episode. What if “Gilmore Girls” becomes about relationships & has a “plot” & “story line” & “main characters”. Is the Amy Sherman Palladino Era Over?

Minute 23: It’s over. I’ve done everything right. I’ve eaten my ritual disgusting food combinations that should never be put together in celebration of the Gilmore steel stomachs (this evening was a bbq sandwich with a side of “Screaming Sours” jolly ranchers) but it just isn’t the same. Even though I laughed, found a new favorite word that isn’t a word, & have 3 very solid new quotes it just isn’t the same. These are just Gilmore pod people.

Minute 37: Look at clock. I have an extreme talent for knowing to the exact second how much “Gilmore Girls” I have left. I think wow, only 37 minutes, I would’ve thought more like 48.

Minute 38: Whoa, crashing things are cool. (Kirk crashed Taylor’s car into the front of Luke’s Diner, but that’s besides the point, crashes are cool.)

Minute 42:  Lorelai is ridding her house of everything Luke.  There is a long list of books I have never heard of.  I scream google excitedly.

Minute 46: I didn’t know about that episode of “The Twilight Zone”. That is sweet. Do not make me start liking Logan now. Ohh why did I eat sour jolly ranchers & bbq, am I stupid?

Minute 55: Luke comes & asks Lorelai to elope with him.  I stop counting minutes mesmerized.  I reserve my judgment until later, but I think the show is going to be ok.

Aftermath:  I am now worried that Luke will leave town & never come back.  I know that won’t happen, but in real life it would. If there really was a Luke & his relationship failed & his diner got wrecked, he would leave. Yes he’s a jerk, but I’ve cared about him for going on the 7th year.  What did you think of tonight’s episode of “Gilmore Girls”.  Any panic attacks? Please note: All times are approximate what do you think I am, a freak?

Gilmore Season 7 Predictions & Wishes

Filed under: Gilmore Girls • Comments: 5

Tomorrow is the first episode of season 7 of Gilmore Girls, otherwise known as the most important day of my year. I’m trying to squelch my excitement like a little kid before Christmas. I have a few wishes/predications for the upcoming season, & the show in general. These aren’t based on anything besides my obsessive watching of the show. These are not spoilers, just my hopes & dreams.

1. I hope Logan goes bye bye & Rory gets back together with Martie. Martie was the only guy I’ve liked for Rory, maybe she’ll start liking him too. If not, I’ll take him.

2. When the show does end, I hope they use the final script that Amy Sherman Palladino supposedly left behind, she deserves that much.  She hinted that she always had the show ending with 4 words.  Any guesses as to what this would be?

3. If Luke & Lorelai ever get married, I hope its under the chuppah that Luke built for her & Max, it was pretty. I do however hope Lorelai ditches that catastrophe of a “perfect dress”. I was glad that they called off the wedding just so I didn’t have to see that thing again. Ouch my eyes, my eyes!

4.  When the show ends, I hope that it is not centered on boys, & that is about mother & daughter.  That is what has made this show special.  I would be perfectly happy with Rory getting on a plane & saying goodbye to her mother, off to become the new

5.  I hope we do not see the return of Jess, Dean, or Tristian.

So what are your predictions/dreams for Gilmore Girls Season 7?  Leave a comment & let me know.

Lorelai & Snow

Filed under: Gilmore Girls • Comments: 2

It is snowing right now. In September. Yes, I live in Utah, but even here, snow in September has only been recorded 3 times. So I was faced with the question, will I, or won’t I? Lorelai Gilmore takes a walk in the first snow every year. Snow is magical to her. So if I’m going to be like her, I would have to do this. Lorelai wears a cute insulated vest, light scarf & a hat which of course she still looks pretty in & goes out walking even if it’s the middle of the night. There is one thing missing from this scenario. Snow is COLD. I do not look pretty with a red sniffling nose, shivering in a non-cute hate. So do I love “Gilmore Girls” enough to risk pneumonia? Yes, yes I do, but I’m a sissy. I will have until next Memorial Day to walk in the snow. Instead I will walk back & forth in front of the window, like I am walking outside & watch the snow. I will watch the snow episodes from various Gilmore Girls seasons. I will drink hot chocolate because I like chocolate. I’m celebrating the first snow of the winter on the inside.
