30 Aug 2006 Gilmore Girls Season 7 Spoilers
 |  Category: Gilmore Links  | 6 Comments

There’s no use in beating a dead horse. Besides I have repeatedly asked Lorelai and Rory Gilmore to be my friends and have never gotten a response. Therefore, I’m not a part of their inner circle, and not privy to spoilers, although I do try. This is by far the best site for Gilmore Girls Spoilers around. I’m not affiliated with this site in anyway, I just love what they do. They have all sorts of great Season 7 Spoilers. They basically collect spoilers from all the other sources so it saves a lot of time. So do you read spoilers or would you rather not know? I read spoilers because Gilmore Girls is my life, I have to know what is going to happen.

28 Aug 2006 They Make Stars Hallow go Round

The hit TV show “Gilmore Girls” has quite an extensive cast to populate the zany town of Stars Hallow. Of course there are the standard characters of Lane, Luke, Lorelai, Rory, Sookie, Richard & Emily. However, there are some great supporting characters such as Paris, Michel, & Jackson. Even during season 6 when I didn’t like the storylines of Lorelai & Rory fighting, & Luke’s daughter, the supporting cast carried the show.  They brough in humor with troubadours and Jackson & Sookie trying to get rid of an unwanted crop. I deserve a medal for that run on sentence, my English teacher would be so proud.

Anyways, I think one of the most underrated supporting characters is Gypsy, the town mechanic. I laugh in every single scene she is in, if her character were a real person we would be friends. Gypsy definitely doesn’t get the “face time” she deserves. I despise Collin & Finn and all the screen time they get, they aren’t funny or interesting let’s move on.

I think my most overrated character is “Bill” from the Yale Daily News.  I think that’s his name, we saw way too much of him last season but his name wasn’t memorable enough to stick. There are just too many good characters and not enough time to be wasting on these losers. Who are your most overrated/underrated Gilmore Girls Characters? Leave a comment and let me know.

26 Aug 2006 Rory’s Book Club Review: A Seperate Peace
 |  Category: Book Reviews  | Leave a Comment

A Separate Peace I am on a quest to become Rory Gilmore. I decided that the best way to do this was to read all of the books in her book club, there are over 100. The next book was “A Separate Peace” by John Knowles. This book was ok. It’s a good book to read on an airplane where you are pretending to read so people won’t talk to you, but you aren’t really paying attention to the book. This is a book that doesn’t require much attention. It’s easy to read, the last 3 pages are pretty good, the rest of the book wasn’t really memorable. I guess that’s good, it doesn’t stand out as horrendous. The only reason I might read it again is if I forget that I had read it before, which may happen. I already forgot most of what happened, or didn’t happen. Did you like “A Separate Peace?”. Leave a comment and let me know. 24 Aug 2006 Rory’s Book Club Review: Beloved
 |  Category: Book Reviews  | Leave a Comment

Beloved (Vintage International) In Junior High I never sat at the cool table, and with this review I won’t be sitting at the the literary cool table. Oprah hearted this book enough to make a movie out of it. She described it as giving birth, and then everyone says “Your baby is ugly”. Well Oprah, hate to break it to you, but it is true. I really didn’t like “Beloved” by Toni Morrison. You know when you don’ t like something and you can’t really explain why? That’s how I feel about this book, so obviously the natural thing is for me to write a review about it :p I understand that books need to delve into darker issues, I appreciate this. It wasn’t the subject matter that I didn’t like, it was the portrayal of a dead child as a bitter selfish being that I felt was unrealistic, cruel, and just hard to get behind. In all fairness, I will try reading Toni Morrison again. To join Rory’s Book Club just click the link in the sidebar, find a book you like and get to reading. How did you feel about “Beloved”?
